Wisconsin Conservation Wardens Michael Sealander and David Walz recovered two drowning victims using their VideoRay Pro 4 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) with BlueView imaging sonar. In both instances, the wardens were able to locate the body in less than an hour.
The first case involved a missing fisherman who was presumed drowned on Letourneau Lake. Once called in by the Price County Wisconsin Sheriff's Department, Wardens Sealander and Walz launched at approximately 10:30 am and, using the VideoRay Pro 4 with Blue View sonar to check marks indicated on side scan sonar, located the body of the missing fisherman approximately 45 minutes later.
Wardens Sealander and David Walz assisted the Price County Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department a few weeks later during the location of a duck hunter presumed drowned on Cranberry Lake. The wardens were only on the water for approximately 15 minutes before locating the victim’s body with the VideoRay Pro 4 with BlueView sonar.
